Course Overview
Our Private Pilot Helicopter program provides the essential skills and knowledge to safely operate a helicopter as pilot-in-command. You’ll receive one-on-one instruction from experienced CFIs in modern, well-maintained aircraft — while following a structured curriculum that meets all FAA Part 61.109(c) requirements.

FAA Training Requirements
To earn your Private Pilot Certificate – Rotorcraft/Helicopter, the FAA requires:
Flight Time – Minimum 40 Hours

20 Hours Dual Instruction
With an FAA-certified instructor, including:-
3 hours of cross-country training

3 hours of night training (if applicable)

3 hours of simulated instrument flight

3 hours of checkride prep within 60 days

10 Hours Solo Flight
Including:-
3 hours of solo cross-country

1 solo flight of at least 25 NM with 3 takeoffs/landings at another airport

Note: Most students require 45–60 hours for proficiency.

In addition to flight training, students must complete ground instruction on:

Eligibility Requirements
Training can begin at any age - but you must

Be at least 16 years old to fly solo

Be at least 17 years old to earn your license

Be able to read, speak, and understand English

Hold a valid Third-Class FAA Medical Certificate
