FAA Requirements
& Our Training Philosophy While we operate under 141 CFR Part 61
Our CFI course is modeled after a structured Part 141-style curriculum to ensure professional preparation and consistency. We are not a Part 141 school, but we follow FAA-endorsed standards for syllabus and proficiency. There is no minimum number of flight hours under Part 61 for a CFI – training is performance-based.
Our program includes 25 hours of dual flight instruction to meet the typical CFI proficiency standard.

Our course is conducted entirely in the IFR-equipped Robinson R44, providing a modern platform for mastering and teaching advanced flight procedures.
FAA Requirements & Our Training Philosophy
Our Part 61 CFII
course is based on a proven training model and meets or exceeds Part 141 standards:

You must hold a Commercial Helicopter Certificate with an Instrument Rating and a current CFI-H.

There is no minimum required hours under Part 61 – the course is proficiency-based.•

We use 15–20 hours of dual instruction as a training benchmark for most CFII candidates.•

You must pass the Instrument Flight Instructor (FII) knowledge test and practical checkride.•

If not previously completed, you must also pass the Fundamentals of Instruction (FOI) knowledge exam.
